SPIN-UP is a project that aims to contribute to the development of Key Entrepreneurial Skills in University Spin-Offs by creating a specific Training and Coaching Program and by providing guidelines to help Higher Education Institutions integrate entrepreneurial learning into their curricula.
University spin-off firms are defined as newly established firms that bring university knowledge to market (Pirnay et al., 2003).
The website will allow for every interested party to learn about the project's objectives, expected results, activities and overall development, and to access it's outcomes - research reports, training materials, training evaluation tools, etc. Learn More
> SPIN-UP Training. New Edition!
Are you a top management staff for an University Spin-Off?
Would you consider taking a 2-day SPIN-UP intensive in-class training course with us? If your answer is yes, what is your location of choice to have the course done?
> Types of training you preferred by mangers of University Spin-Offs
A majority of 56% of the 63 University Spin-Offs' managers participating in the poll promoted on www.spin-up.eu prefer in-class training over b-learning (40%) and e-learning(only 4%).
> SPIN-UP Training Pilots
SPIN-UP pilots were successfully held in Portugal, The Netherlands and Finland. This was a chance to test and get feedback on the training and coaching programme. The pilots had the participation of 30 University Spin-Offs and feedback was very positive. The most significant conclusion is that the programme needs, in terms of scheduling, to be adapted to each country's realities.
Following the pilots, the partnership will introduce improvements to the training and coaching programme.
> Missing Skills in University Spin-Offs
The management of University Spin-Offs identify Financial Management, Internationalization, Business Strategy, Leadership and Human Resources Management as skills missing in their companies.
This is the conclusion of the poll that was ran in this website in the past few weeks and that got 50 responses.
